REACTING TO GREECE'S ENTRY

Katerine Duska was chosen internally, to be Greece's representative at Eurovision next May, with the song "Better Love". We are now reviewing it of course!

"Better Love" is not my cup of tea, I have to admit, I tried to like the song several times, and while I don't enjoy it very much, I still like it when I'm hearing, I wouldn't shut it up. However, maybe part of me not liking it probably has to do with the music video, I couldn't connect with it very much, nor did I was able to see what they were intending to show, but honestly, the first time I listened to it without watching the music video, I was able to imagine a better scenario that would favour the song at Eurovision, and probably that's the way for Greece this year, to create something amazing that no one is expecting, and they have that potential because Katerine is an amazing singer, and she will certainly appeal to juries and people who like this type of song. I think that this is almost a certain qualifier, but for me it's not that certain. I would need to see what they do at the semi-final to know if this works or not, as most of the songs, and see if it can please me. I have other songs that I like more in this semi, but I wouldn't discard the possibility of Greece climbing my leaderboard. I'll give this an 8 out of 10.

I love the fact that Katerine's style is a mixture between Melanie Martinez and Marina (and the diamonds). Her voice is wonderful, everything about this song is wonderful, and the instrumental resembles a lot to Florence + The Machine. I hope that the live perfomance at Eurovision doesn't end up ruining everything and that her amazing voice isn't just an illusion. I'm not giving a 10/10 to this because I don't know what she'll do on stage, but my hopes are really high! I think Greece deserves a good placement this year! My score is a 9,5 out of 10!

Carina

Typical song that “doesn’t seem an Eurovision entry”, which would easily pass on a famous radio, I think. Her voice reminds me a famous singer in a good sense but I don’t know who – actually, her voice is what stands out the most in this song. However, this doesn’t mean at all that for me this is a marvelous song and of one the best from this year: actually, this is a good beat and she has a great voice, but I don’t see nothing more than that. This is maybe the kind of song that I would change my opinion If I listen more from now on. I’ll give it a 7 out of 10.
