REACTING TO HUNGARY'S ENTRY

Joci Pápai is back to Eurovision! After winning A Dal 2019 with "Az én apám", he earned the right to be Hungary's representative at Eurovision once again, and we are going to review his song!
Hope you enjoy!

I have to say, I was so happy when I knew Joci Pápai would be back to Eurovision this year, as he was one of my favorite entries back in 2017. I really love his voice, he has the ability to reach your heart immediatly, you feel whatever he wants you to feel, and that's amazing in an artist. About "Az én apám", I have to say, this is not as good as "Origo", but Joci can still manage to transmit the emotions the same way as he did in Kiev. It's an emotional, yet powerful ballad, that I don't know how it can go. I fear that this may not be enough to grab the ticket to the final. I think juries will get behind his voice, and people may do it as well, but it may come as not enough to save this. I would personally love to have this at the final, and I hope Joci Pápai can get the job done, because he really is talented, but at the time, there are other songs that are more appetizing that this, and that may be the sentence. Either way, I really like this and I will give it an 8 out of 10. Good luck to Hungary!

SCORE: 8/10

I think Joci alone on stage, only with the leds isn't enough to make this song reach its full potential. He has a good voice, and the chorus is really interesting, but honestly, I don't know what to expect for this song. For now, I'm giving it a 7 out of 10.

SCORE: 7/10

This song may look like simple but sometimes less is more and this is one example of that. I enjoy the instrumental and I think that is undeniable that Joci can sing, even if we cannot understand what he is singing. In comparision to Origo, the other is the kind of song that stays in the ear; this one, on the other hand, is more touching. In a nutshell, I consider this a good song and for me Az én apám deserves a good place. I'll give it a 7,5/10!

SCORE: 7,5/10

OTHER RATINGS:

Martim: 6/10
Joana: 5,5/10

AVERAGE SCORE: 6,8
