REACTING TO ESTONIA'S ENTRY

Victor Crone was the grand victor of Eesti Laul 2019, Estonia's National Final for Eurovision, and so he and his song "Storm" earned the ticket to Tel Aviv to represent the baltic nation at the grand stage! We, of course, will have our say about this entry, and we hope you enjoy it!

I have some mixed feelings about this one, but ultimately I must admit, that this is a quality entry, although it's not that original. This has a lot of Avicii vibes, but in the end that's good because we all love some Avicii vibes! Victor is a solid vocalist, and a great performer, his performance at Eesti Laul was very fluid and really elevated the song beyond what I thought that would be it's maximum potential, and when that happens, we know there's a competent and reliable team behind that. A small note, I loved the storm, it was a really good addition to the song, made it more epic. This song, on the other hand may be overall considered a bit generic, and I don't know how the juries and televoters will react to this, but I am confident they will recognize the quality in the production of this. Finally, the score... I will give this an 8,5 out of 10, it's not a winner for me but seems like an almost certain qualifier.

SCORE: 8,5/10

Too generic and not very original in my opinion, the melody is similar to many songs I've already heard in and out of Eurovision. I don't like the guitar, I feel like it's a bit outdated. Vocally, he is good but not great, but still manages to deliver. The performance at Eesti Laul was a bit dull for me, and not very apelative, despite the visual storm effects. I'm giving it a 4 out of 10.

SCORE: 4/10

This reminds me the type of songs Avicii used to make. It's pleasant to hear, but bring the fireworks! I don't want only the two of them and the storm on the Eurovision stage! Last year, Surie said "storms don't last forever", and I hope that at least Victor can finish higher than she did! Finally, a commercial yet quality song at this year's contest! I'm giving it an 8 out of 10!

SCORE: 8/10

OTHER RATINGS:

Martim: 6/10
Joana: 5/10

AVERAGE SCORE: 6,3

Can this storm blow Victor Crone to a top spot at Eurovision this year? Let us know in the comments section!

Have a great day!
