REACTING TO ICELAND'S ENTRY
As a lot of Eurovision fans have been expecting, including a good part of our team, Söngvakeppnin 2019's winners, and consequently Iceland's banner-carriers at Tel Aviv in May, were Hatari! We are reviewing their song on our blog, and we hope you enjoy it!

My God, if this isn't from another world! Hatari were my favorites to win in Iceland and they did it! This is probably one of Iceland's best entries in the past few years. I already know this will be very polarizing, there will be people who will hate it, and others who will absolutely love it, but overall, no one will be indiferent to this, and that's what you want on Eurovision, a song that grabs everyone's attention! This is so dark and edgy, has a good message as well, and the performers are also from another world. From an edgy gimmick, to alternative singing ways, and even an amazing falsetto, Hatari serves us a full package, and even though this is not my type of musical taste, I can't be indiferent to this, this grabs my attention, it makes me want to sing this, to dance, to go crazy, I'll just sum it up, this is winner's material. At this point I've heard every song, and this is one of them that can make it all the way to the top, and I'm predicting a Top-5 finish for Iceland, as well as they finally getting out of the semis! Finally, my score to this will be a 9,5 out of 10, and I give my congratulations to Iceland for not choosing a safe path and taking a risk like this. This is what every country should do for the contest's sake, and I hope you have the best at Eurovision!
SCORE: 9,5/10

I like their unusual style in comparison to the majority of the contestants at Eurovision. The instrumental could be included in a videogame's soundtrack. The song sounds really original, but it's not really something I want to hear on a daily basis. I get the controversy surrounding this, not only for their particular style, but also for the pessimistic and overwhelming lyrics. Either way, I'm really curious to know what they are doing in Tel Aviv, so I'll give it a 7 out of 10!

It seems to me that this is the kind of Eurovision songs that is hardly forgotten. Personally, I don’t find this song “weird”; actually, I enjoy this song as a whole. The chorus may seem different from the rest of the song but to be honest I like the change of tune during it, in comparison to the remaining parts of the song! This is probably a song that I would easily hear in my phone/pc even if this was not a Eurovision “product”. Plus, this song gives me some Muse vibes, which is a compliment from me, since they are a band which I appreciate so much. Visually speaking, needless to say that this performance stands out from most of the others, due not only to the clothing of the artists, but also to the colors and the visual elements on stage. Last but not the least, I feel this is a song that can reach a high position this year and Iceland deserves to be in the final. I’ll give it a 8,5/10.

Can Iceland's shocking song prove to be what the contest really needs? Let us know in the comments section!
